How to Create a Pre-Save Link for Your Upcoming Song
A pre-save link lets fans take action before a scheduled release on a supported streaming service. A smart link for an already released song is different: it directs listeners to the streaming platforms where the song is available.

1. Confirm your release details
Prepare the song title, artist name, cover artwork and release date. Your release needs to be set up through a distributor or release workflow that supports the relevant pre-save feature.
2. Check release eligibility
Pre-save features usually depend on an upcoming release and supported platform integrations. You may need a release identifier or other information from your distributor or smart-link provider.
3. Choose a suitable service
Choose a reputable pre-save provider that supports the platforms you need. Check its pricing, privacy terms and any permissions it requests from fans.
4. Create and test your page
Follow the provider's instructions to create the campaign. Test the page on mobile and desktop and verify the artwork, release details and destination links.
5. Promote the link
Share the page through your social profiles, website, video descriptions and other relevant channels. Make sure fans know the expected release date.
What if your song is already live?
Create a smart link that sends fans to the available streaming destinations, such as Spotify, Apple Music and YouTube Music. Confirm each destination works before sharing the page.
Smart links at RMC Records
Check the features currently available in your RMC Records artist portal. Pre-save integrations and live-song smart links are separate features and should only be advertised as available when they have been implemented and tested.
